February - Month 9

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but WJC5 is so delightful. And since we've no place to go. Let is snow, Let it snow, Let it snow.
Yes, outside we are in the middle of winter, but inside our house is warm and glowing with all the fun and developments WJC5 is bringing. His teeth are continuing to come in and he is really crawling now. He is pulling up on everything too and becoming very interested in things around him. He wants to check everything out and give it a touch. He also has a new love - tupperware. We gave him a special cabinet full of it. Of course, we used to have it anally organized, but oh, how things change once a kid comes along. Now, we just laugh and enjoy watching him take all the pieces out and spread them all over the floor. We just have to learn how to put them away next!
We had WJC5's 9 month check. Just blood work taken and no shots so it was an easier month. :) The doctor said he was doing great and was very healthy. He was 20 lbs already! Just two more pounds to go and we are into a real car seat. I cannot wait for this moment because I feel like my arms is going to fall off carrying him around in the infant car seat. The seat alone is heavy and then you add 20 lbs of baby... UGH! What a work out!
The doctor did say that we can start to feed him people food and whatever we are eating, if he shows interest, we can give him small pea sized bites. We are avoiding the typical eggs, peanuts, fish, etc but we are ready and excited to share the yummy world with WJC5. If he is anything like his dad there is nothing he won't love - well except mushrooms! LOL!
We also asked the doctor about all the falls and hits to the head that WJC5 is enduring as he is learning to navigate the house. He assured us that this is normal and they are stronger than we think. That was comforting to hear because every time he bumped his head, James and I were worried we took another 10 points off his SAT scores!
The most special moment this month came the weekend of Valentine's Day. We got WJC5 baptisied. Everyone made the trip and made the day even more special. We had my mom and dad from Florida, James dad and step mom from Maine, James mom, sister, brother in law, and 2 nieces from New Jersey, and even his aunt and grandfather all the way from Wisconsin. It was such a wonderful moment for our family and it is a great feeling to know that WJC5 will be raised with a strong relationship with his church and God. It was a very "proud" moment, and yes... I cried!!! ;) A huge thank you to everyone for making the weekend and especially that moment something we will remember forever.

Until next time...
