Week 23 and 24

Well, we've had quite an exciting few weeks in the Close household. WJC5 has been becoming more and more active with each passing day. He just wants to move. He is starting to not even want to be held very long and he flips over in his bouncer and now tries to crawl up it. Not much longer and I will be chasing him around the house... Lord, help me!!
I have WJC5 on a good schedule now. He wakes up at 6:45 am and has a small bottle (3-5 oz) at 7:00 am. He is not a morning eater at all - never has been. Then he plays and is very happy until about 8:15. Then he takes a morning nap for about 30-45 min. We play some more and then he has a late breakfast at 10:00 am of 2 tbsp oatmeal cereal and 1/2 a container of fruit. Then an hour later he has a 6 oz bottle at 11:00 am. After that he is awake for a little while and then he takes his long afternoon nap... normally about 2 1/2 hours. After that long nap, he's hungry! We eat about 8 oz at 3:00 pm. Then he is quite active and happy. We play until 6:00 pm and then we have dinner. Dinner consists of 2 tbsp oatmeal cereal and 1/2 container of veggies. He eats this dinner at 6:00 pm and then sits in the highchair with mom and dad while we eat our dinner. At 7:30 pm it is bath time and then we have a nighttime bottle of 8 oz and he goes to bed. He wakes up around 11 - 12 for his "dream feed." I give him one last bottle (6-8 oz) and then he is out for the night until the morning. I am hoping over time as he grows to eliminate that "dream feed" but as of now, he still is a hungry fellow and needs that bottle.
We had the Dynan family visit the weekend of the 24th. It was so great to see Mike, Amanda, and their son C. C and WJC5 became fast buddies and they really enjoyed each other. We are so glad they were able to come visit. We had some great talks, laughs, and of course lots of yummy food!!
Then, the next week my school shut down Wednesday - Friday because there was an H1N1 outbreak!! Scary!!!! That following Monday and Tuesday, our daycare provider came down with the flu. So I got an unplanned week home with WJC5!! I loved every minute of it and have been really working with him on crawling and saying Mommy!!! We also got to improve our cuddling skills. :)
I also learned a valuable lesson this week. WJC5 is now starting to really observe me and mimic my facial expressions. Just to try and make him laugh, I stuck my tongue out at him and made the raspberry noise. Well, he got quite a kick out of this and then imitated me. I started laughing out loud. Of course, because he got this reaction from me, he kept doing it and doing it. It was funny and kind of cute in the comfort of our own home, however the next day I had to go out with him to CVS and get my flu shot. Well, this nice little old lady was sitting next to me and started talking to WJC5. What does he do...? Stick his tongue out at her!!! I just wanted to die!!! Lesson learned!!! Ha Ha!!!
Now on to Halloween!!! WJC5 had a great first Halloween!! We woke up and got things ready for the trick-or-treaters. Then around 3:30, we watched the Gator game while we carved our family pumpkin. After this, I roasted sweet and spicy pumpkin seeds in the oven. SO TASTY!!! Then the time came to dress WJC5 in his Halloween costume. He was a pumpkin and he just looked adorable!! He didn't stay in the outfit too long, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. :)
This coming weekend James is taking out the old tile in our front foyer and we are going to buy our new fancy tile. I can't wait to see the difference. He has been working hard ripping it up!! He's so handy that hubby of mine!! The following weekend, Dad and Pat will visit. James and his dad will work on laying the tile and making our foyer just beautiful!! I can't wait!!

Next time will be an update on WJC5's 6 month appointment!!! Until then...
xxoo
