Week 19 - 22

Ok... apparently once the whole house gets sick, it takes a few weeks to recover!! I have been horrible about blogging!!! I am back on track though!! I have a feeling once WJC5 hits 6 months, this blog is going to go monthly however. Between work, being a mom, running the household, and trying to stay sane... the weekly blogging is becoming a stress point instead of enjoyable. So... in a few weeks, I am going monthly!! :) This is his 5 month picture with his bear.
Thanks to some good antibiotics, we were all three feeling better. Our little guy got sick again this past weekend though. :( I felt so bad. There is not much you can do with a stuffy nosed child who can't blow their nose or breathe out of it. Even just eating was hard for him. It was a long few days but I think he is starting to feel better now.
Let me go back a few weekends though and catch you up. The weekend after we were all sick, we went down to NJ to visit Matt, Marlene, the girls, and Shirley. It was a fun weekend but I had the scare of my life. WJC5 and I left Shirley's new house and were driving back to Matt and Marlene's... just the two of us in the car. I was at a stop light and all the sudden from my rear view mirror, I notice a SUV coming from behind me at super speed and not slowing down. I realized that this car didn't care that I was in it's way and was about to take me out. Behind him were about 10 police cars cashing him and his only care and focus was to out run them. I didn't have anywhere to go but into the lane of oncoming traffic (which at the time was clear). I just prayed that if someone started to come that direction, they would see me and slow down. The car whizzed past me, screeching it's tires and almost hitting the back corner of my car. Honestly missing me by just a few feet. Next, all the police cars went zooming past all over trying to catch this guy. I was just frozen and scared out of my mind. Once it all passed, I pulled over and was shaking to pieces. I jumped out of the car, pulled out Warren and just cried and held him. It was the closest I've been to being in a serious accident and the fact that it was almost with some criminal and my 4 month old son in the back seat really shook me up. I honestly don't remember making decisions about where to move the car and what to do. I honestly feel like angels were watching over WJC5 and I. I have a whole new appreciation for "Jesus Take the Wheel." It was one of the most scary moments I've had as a mom and it made me appreciate life and each day even more than I already did.
Now on to some good stuff. James' birthday weekend (10/10), James and I got to have a little get away - just the two of us. My parents came in to town to watch WJC5. James and I took two nights and went to Mystic, CT. I cried for quite awhile when we left. I had such a "hole" in my heart from leaving WJC5, but once we got away, I started to feel a little better. We had a wonderful and very relaxing time together... wine tastings, steak dinner, drinking, watching movies, sleeping in, massages, breakfast buffet, coffee!! It was great. I missed WJC5 tremendously, but man... that was one needed weekend!! :) THANKS MOM AND DAD!! (I think after two days of watching WJC5, they were ready for a little vacation themselves!!) LOL!

This past weekend, we had another visitor... Tammy came to spend the weekend with us. Well, WJC5 just loved her. They played and had a wonderful time together. He really enjoyed her and they truly bonded. It was also great for me to have some time with my friend too. I miss seeing her every day!

Lastly, WJC5 got some fancy pictures taken of him about a week ago. I have a friend at work who does professional pictures on the side. Well, I had her come over and WJC5 had his very own photo shoot. The pictures turned out amazing!!! I will be hiring her to do our Christmas card, for sure!!
WJC5 has been really doing a lot of fun stuff lately. He is very observant of everything that we do and is really starting to grab for anything in his reach. It is amazing what he finds entertaining as he explores the world. Just last night, he was mesmerized by Tinfoil. He loves anything he can crinkle. He really enjoys reading the newspaper or mail with Daddy at night. He also loves to giggle, practice standing, and putting anything into his mouth. He has mastered oatmeal cereal, peas, sweet potatoes, and peaches. He takes after his dad and loves to eat. He even has started to try and hold his bottle while eating. Also in the last week, he has started to get his knees up underneath of himself. He even does it while sleeping and has now found the "butt in air" sleep position. TOO FUNNY!!!

This coming weekend, the Dynan's are visiting. We can't wait to see them!!! All these activities and visitors is great!! Makes October fly by!! Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving!!!

Until next week...
