This week was not much different than our first week. Papa (my dad) left to head back to FL. We were all sad to see him go, but I think Shea was the most depressed. She got lots of needed attention from him. It will be a long time until she gets a lick of a Carb Smart bar now. :)
James and I were still trying to figure out WJC5's sleeping and eating routine. It is still very sporadic and he does not know the difference between night and day. Actually I think he has his nights and days completely reversed!! It has been a rough two weeks to for me emotionally. I think my post-pregnancy hormones are kicking in and I am just a crying for no apparent reason. Poor James and my mom don't know what to do with me half the time and are probably afraid to say anything to me for fear it will set me off. I have talked to many moms though and read that it is very normal and once the hormones get out of your system, it will pass. Let's hope that's sooner rather than later... for everyone's sake! :)
WJC5 had his two week check this week and we got a great report. He is almost 9 lbs already and the doctor was very happy with his growth and development. He does have a blocked tear duct which makes his eye goopy, but we are hopeful it will go away soon. The doctor said it was nothing to be concerned about.
Maybe I am emotional because this week I turned 31! I know I am still "young" but being 31 makes me feel a little old to be honest. I am moving further and further away from my 20's and moving closer and closer to my 40's!! YIKES!! And I guess becoming a mom this year made 31 feel even older. Sometimes I don't feel old enough to have a kid! (wishful thinking!!) For my birthday this year we couldn't really go out and do anything because of the baby and my recovery from the C-section. So, we did take out from Olive Garden (one of my favs) and ate in. James got me a VERY needed gift this year. I get to take a few hours while he watches the baby and go get a massage and a pedicure. It is going to be so relaxing and wonderful... I might not come home.
