Mom and dad came in around noon each day and spent time with us and WJC5. That also gave the new daddy a break to go home and do a few things around the house... or at least nap in quiet!! I was so happy to have my parents there in the hospital and have them share that time with us all.
Four days after the birth, we finally got to go home. They gave us a fancy hospital meal for our last dinner. It was actually decent for hospital food, but I think it got us even more excited to get home. We knew we were a night of sleep away. It was a long four days and by that fourth day we were both going crazy and ready to get out of there. When we checked in the floor was super busy and every room was full. When we left however, we honestly felt like we were stuck in a twilight zone. We were the only ones left on our quiet hallway left. We were ready to take our little bundle home.
So the next morning we checked out, got the car seat in the car (stressful!), and drove very carefully home. When we arrived we found quite a welcome party with Nana and Papa and of course, Shea.
Shea got to meet the new addition to the family and she did quite well. Little do they both know how much they are going to love each other in the years to come!
We went to our first pediatrician appointment that day. WJC5 got a clean bill of health and we got the good news that we had a happy and healthy baby boy. Our new family had begun.
