2 months...

I cannot believe it was two months ago that I was in labor and bringing WJC5 into this world. The time has gone fast and he has already grown and changed so much. I know that it is just the beginning however! The following picture is him looking forward to when he can sit like daddy in the "Man Chair!"
In the last week or so, he has started sleeping more at night. YEAH!! :) He has his last feeding at 7 pm and then he falls asleep at about 8:00 - 8:30 pm. He now is sleeping all the way from then until 5:00 - 5:30 am. He wakes up then for a quick feeding (5 minutes) and then naps and hangs out in his crib until 7:00 am. That is when we have our morning wake up! I am working on getting him to eliminate that 5:00 am feeding and try and make it to 6:30 - 7:00 am. I am hopeful in the next few weeks that we will get there.

His favorite thing to do right now is kick his legs. He also loves when I play with his feet. He has very strong and active legs. Maybe he will run track like his daddy... He has also been smiling and cooing a lot more. I think I have even gotten a little giggle here and there. I can't catch it on video yet, but I'm working on it. The neatest thing is that his vision has improved and he really is noticing the world around him. Now when Shea walks up to him and licks the top of his head, he looks at her and smiles. It is just too cute. This past week he also has started to suck on his thumb with frequency. He has found his hands and realized that he can soothe himself. Sometimes in the monitor, all I hear is this sucking noise and I know he is trying to get that thumb in his mouth.
We had our big two month appointment yesterday. Warren got more glowing reviews. The doctor said he was exactly where he needed to be and thought he looked great. He is 12 lbs 4 oz and 23 1/2 inches long. He did get his huge round of shots though. He cried for about 30 seconds and then he was ok. I didn't cry too much either which I was proud of. However, once we got home that kind of changed. He was fine for the first three or four hours, but then he got super fussy. He was screaming and crying and didn't want to go to sleep. We took his temperature and he was running a temp of 100. This was the first time I have truly seen him in pain and it was such a different cry. It just broke my heart. That's when I started crying. Poor James walked in the nursery with the Tylenol to give Warren and found us both crying together. :( I have learned though from a friend, that next time I am supposed to give the Tylenol BEFORE the appointment and it really helps. I guess you learn as you go. That's what being a new mom is all about. On a happy note, I took this picture before we left for the doctor appointment. (Yes, I did change the shirt before we went!) I call this one "Like Father, Like Son." :)
We also had our first outing this weekend. We went and got plants to landscape the front of our house. Warren was all ready for getting out of the house. He did great and LOVES the car. He falls sound asleep within minutes... (kind of like his mom!) I should remember that during those real fussy times that I can't get him happy. Happy trails...
